Canadian Arts Coalition – Renewal 

The Coalition Steering Committee has been renewed and strengthened with the addition of the Executive Directors of long-standing member organizations.   More will soon join us.  We continue to partner with the Canadian Arts Summit, Business for the Arts and Magazines Canada.  Faced with the unprecedented challenges presented by COVID 19 it is critical that we work together to effectively advocate on behalf of the sector.  For 15 years the Coalition has done just that, resulting in the doubling of funding for the Canada Council for the Arts and important increases to programs of the Department of Canadian Heritage.

The Canadian Arts Coalition will not be setting up Roundtables, nor pursuing Research and Policy Committee work at this time.  Instead, we will be continuing to consult with our stakeholders and renewing our focus on what we do best, namely: advocating to the federal government for what will be needed to enable our sector to emerge strong and vibrant once this pandemic has passed.
