Guiding Principles
- Commitment to Equity and Diversity: We champion equity and diversity in all facets of the arts, ensuring the full inclusion of Indigenous, Black, racialized, deaf and disabled communities, as well as those in northern Canada.
- Federal Advocacy: We focus on federal-level issues within Canada, advocating for the betterment of the arts and culture sector.
- Sector-Wide Consensus: We aim to achieve broad consensus on major opportunities and issues affecting the professional arts sector. Occasionally, we support policy recommendations that benefit specific disciplines to strengthen the overall sector.
- Partnerships: We establish mutually beneficial partnerships with stakeholders from both within and outside the culture sector to broaden the conversation and advocate for the public good.
- Non-Partisanship: We maintain positive, respectful relationships with all political parties, encouraging collaboration on arts-related issues.
- Constructive Advocacy: We take a positive approach to advocacy, acknowledging favorable decisions and policies while providing constructive feedback and proposing solutions when necessary.
